As one of our biggest forms of outreach, Hope For The Day distributes cards with an always-important reminder that IT’S OK NOT TO BE OK® on the front and lists accessible mental health resources on the back. We hand out these cards everywhere we go, from music venues to community spaces, giving away over 100,000 in 2021.
But what actually are those resources on the back? Behind the Resource Card is a speaker series that dives into and humanizes these hotlines by speaking to those who are on the other end of the line.
Resources like these can often make folks feel uncomfortable and uncertain about what kind of experience they may have when calling for help. As a peer-led and clinically backed organization, we look into each resource we recommend to our community. We did the digging so you don’t have to because getting mental health help shouldn’t be any more difficult than it already is.
We spoke with members of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, Veteran Crisis Line, Trans Lifeline, and National Sexual Assualt Hotline, to ask the questions everyone has been wondering.
These videos will be released over the next few weeks here, and on our YouTube channel.
