GET EDUCATED

H.F.T.D.'s 86 The Silence workshop is a program designed to teach individuals in the hospitality industry how to understand self-care and be supportive to proactive mental health care for others.

We press the discussion about stigma, its impact on individuals and communities, and teach practical skills for early recognition of mental health challenges that often go unaddressed due to the silence of stigma, building to a crisis stage.

You serve your community. Now, let’s support it.

START THE CONVERSATION

Crafting the Conversation Around Mental Health

In 2021, the craft community proved that a single product could start a global movement. Over 200 partners in 5 countries joined forces to raise nearly $200,000 for Hope For The Day®’s proactive suicide prevention programs. Together, we educated 350 people and distributed more than 25,000 free mental health resources.

The 86 THE SILENCE: Conversation Starters campaign is named after our signature education program, The Things We Don’t Say, which empowers people to talk openly about mental health, break down stigma, and take early action.

Now, we’re bringing it back for 2026—bigger, louder, and bolder. Whether you’re a brewery, a coffee roaster, a cannabis cultivator, or a maker of artisan goods, we are inviting the entire hospitality world to join us.

  • Craft your own version of "86 THE SILENCE: Conversation Starters." Whether it’s a signature IPA, a limited-run olive oil, a bespoke cocktail, or a specialty tincture—create a product that reflects your unique craft and your community.

    • Launch: Aim for a release in May 2026 (Mental Health Awareness Month).

    • Give Back: Donate a portion of proceeds to Hope For The Day® to fund proactive prevention.

    • Access: Receive a customizable label template, resource kits, and social media assets tailored to your product type.

    • Versatile Label Templates: Customizable designs for bottles, cans, jars, or retail packaging.

    • H.F.T.D. Resource Package: Physical toolkits including IT’S OK NOT TO BE OK® wristbands and vetted mental health cards for your staff and customers.

    • Media Kit: Professional graphics, social media assets, and suggested marketing copy to help you share the mission.

    • The Blueprint: Optional recipe starting points for brewers (via Eagle Park Brewing) or menu-pairing guides for hospitality partners.

    • Education: The option to schedule 86 the Silence education session (available in English & Spanish).

  • Support the Movement Near You Starting in May 2026, use our interactive map to find participating bars, dispensaries, breweries, and shops in your area.

Not a Maker? You can still support:

    • Donate Directly: Support H.F.T.D.’s global mission.

    • Drink Sip of Hope® Coffee: Support the world’s first coffee shop where 100% of proceeds go to suicide prevention.

    • Bring Education to Your Team: Schedule a Things We Don’t Say workshop for your workplace or community group.

  • Help us grow the movement. Copy, paste, and send this to them:

"Hi [Brand Name] Team! I’d love to see you join Hope For The Day® (H.F.T.D.) for their 2026 campaign: 86 THE SILENCE: Conversation Starters.

It’s a global call for the hospitality and craft community—from brewers to makers of all kinds—to #CraftTheConversation around mental health and smash the stigma in the spaces where we gather. You can release a dedicated product, get free mental health resources for your staff, and help save lives. Check it out at [Link/Email bev@hftd.org]."
