Presented by Lance CPA group, Race For Hope is a celebration of life, focused on a day of humor, education and embracing community with participation in an athletic event themed around ‘Star Wars’: “May The Fourth Be with you!” supporting Hope For The Day’s Proactive Suicide Prevention programming.

Community 5k Starts: 11:00 AM
There will be a series of youth races ages 4-12 that start at 11AM.
40 yard dash, 100 meter, 200 meter, 1 mile
The Community Flight
7 laps on the track (1.7miles) for participants of all ages, and skill levels. For runners, joggers, walkers, strollers and dogs too!
We run 7 laps for the 7 days in a week and that mental health is a 24/7 process. Not just one day or month but something that we live with every day.
Participants are encouraged to participate in costume, like their favorite Star Wars themed characters (other pop-culture costumes welcome as well!)

What is included with my registration?
Entrance into the days races and activities. If you would like to secure an event shirt that can be done in advance for $15 donation when you RSVP.
Can I get an event shirt on race day?
Yes on event day you can secure an event shirt for a $20 donation

Is the race Chip-timed?
The inaugural Race For Hope will not be chip timed.
Will there be parking?
There is public parking available on school grounds.
Do I have to dress up in anyway?
You are free to dress/express yourself anyway you choose.
Can children participate?
HECK YES! They can do the kids specific flights and are more than welcome to join the Community 5k as well!
Are pets allowed at the event?
Yes, pets are welcomed at the event. They can join the walking group on the course, which will be seeded last. (a) They should be leashed & (b) Bring bags to clean up any defecation.
Do I need to bring cash or credit cards?
There will be free water, and an opportunity to obtain other beverages by donation, cash and credit cards will be accepted.
What do I need at check in?
A printed or digital copy of your registration.
Are spectators welcome?
Yes, spectators are encouraged to come out and support along the course.
Will weather affect the event?
We intend to have a safe event for all. If the weather proves to be dangerous to participants it is at the full discretion of the event directors in conjunction with the City of Chicago and Chicago Park District officials to determine if the event must be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. THERE IS NO MAKEUP DATE OR REFUNDS IN THE EVENT OF A CANCELLATION.
