Dark Matter Coffee Block Party
We had an awesome time this Saturday at the 9th annual Maplewoodstock, the block party hosted by our friends at Dark Matter Coffee! Between the music, the food, and the beer, there was something for everyone to enjoy, and we're so grateful to everyone who stopped by.
The soundtrack to the fun was provided by awesome Chicago-based acts like Yakuza, Hood Internet + Showyousuck, The Right Now, and Black Bear Combo. 45 different beers from a total of 20 brewers were available and food was provided by amazing sponsors like Lockwood Bar & Grill, Roots Handmade Pizza, and Sauce & Bread Kitchen.
We are thrilled to announce that Dark Matter Coffee's block party raised a total of $14,315, double what it raised last year! Jesse Diaz, the president and founder of Dark Matter Coffee, created this block party in 2008 as a way to give back, and since then Maplewoodstock has been a huge success and source of pride for the community. Our sincere thanks to everyone who donated to support suicide prevention and mental health education. Lastly, Hope For The Day is deeply grateful for all the time and resources Dark Matter Coffee has committed to this (and so many of our efforts).
